Weight gain due to serious illness

Hello to all: Especially our Portsmouth group... I was scheduled to come back to support group after the holidays but here's what happened.  To make a long story short as possible... we went to Virginia for X-mas-New Years week.  Myself and Jojo had just gotten over the flu.  I was still tired and very pale, but seemed ok.  We are there a couple of days and everything that could go wrong did.  I went to the "family clinic" down there because I threw up and I was worried the flu was back, but I threw up some blood, then alot of blood.  Fainted in the doctors office, took me by ambulance to the Halifax Hospital, to ICU for 3 days, 4 pints of blood many pints of saline etc.  It was a GI bleed they say had probably been going on for at least 2+ weeks and I was VERY lucky but they weren't willing to say it was or wasn't because of bypass surgery..(I'm 2 1/2 years out), then cardio came in.  My BP was 80 over 45 and my resting heart rate was less than 40 (not good unless youre Lance Armstrong) So stayed there for 3 days then 1 1/2 reg. room then they let me go home.  I couldn't drive so Roger had to drive the whole 15 hours himself and we got into the snowstorm in PA, which sucked.
I know I said short...haha.  I'm home now.  No strenuous exercise for 10-14 days and follow up with Gastro and surgical up here.  No problem with that but am taking 2 more classes this semester and one is on Monday nights so I can't go to support group and I gained 3 1/2 - 5 lbs and I'm upset about that.  I know that seems stupid (such a small amount) but I seem to be doing the upset eating.  Shrink took me off clonidine and put me on valium and now they are wondering if the celexa gave me the bleeding.  aaarrrgggghh.
Sorry to sound like a *****y complainer but I miss you guys and I've got to stay not stressed ( or at least fake it ) or Roger's gonna throw me in the looney bin.  He's very worried somethings is going to happen to me.
Well sorry none of this seemed positive.  One high point I did get a B- in my Assessment of the behavior of Human Psychology and Sociology which I was convinced I was going to flunk so that was good and I went skiing last night and only fell getting off the lift once.
So help with the weight issue would be appreciated and hopefully I can go back to exercise this week and it will drop off again.
Thanx
Love you guys
