January Exercise Challenge Week 2

Well, this last week did not go as planned.  I got my Synvisc shot in my knee and everything went good, then Tuesday happened.  My knee swelled so badly, and I could not put any weight on it at all.  Walking with a cane is not all it is cracked up to be!!  So it is now a full week, and I still cannot make it through the day without taking advil, but I don't need the cane anymore.  So other than a small couple of walks with my dogs, I got little to no exercise this week.  At the most 60 minutes, although cane walking is quite exhausting.

i did well concedering my challanges of the week !

put me in for 500 for the week for a month total of 1095min

There is no need to look back unless you plan on going that way!

Well last week was really a bust for me with only 250 minutes for a total of 750 for the month. But back on track this week, lets see if I can get back up to the 500 mark for the week.

I got 135 minutes of exercise in last week between my walks and the gym.  BUT I moved my Mom this weekend - all weekend / lifting heavy boxes, up and down the stairs, washing walls and floors.  So although 135 minutes doesn't look too good, in actuality, I got a lot more done.

Martha, I hope you're up and around really soon.  I'm sorry you're going through this.

Thanks Kathy,

It is just really frustrating when I try and do something good for me, it turns out so awful.  Between my menierres fiasco this summer, and now this!!! 

Anyway, I think you should give yourself way more than 135 minutes.  I am glad for you though that your mom is moved to her new place.  Although it was probably awesome to have her there, now you can get back to your way of doing things.

If I gave myself credit for all the time I spent helping my Mom move this weekend, I would already be way over my goal.  We worked a minimum of 6 hours a day without stopping.  I'd rather just count the minutes that I actually spent doing traditional exercise, but at the same time, I know that I've already exceeded my goal.  If I count those minutes, I might slack off for the rest of the month, and I don't want to do that - talk about playing head games!

Martha I'm so sorry to hear about your knee - but I'm glad it is improving.
Kathy that's great that your Mom is getting settled. I bet you worked your butt off :)
Ok last week I got in 375 minutes to bring my total to 840. Talk about head games - I am becoming obsessed with running and my time. I know I have to stop because it's taking the fun out of it. I need to relax and enjoy it. I think it's because I'm running indoors. Come on spring!!!
