Looking for Center that does revisions??
I don't think that any of the doctor's in this area do revisions but just wanted to let you know that a new support group is starting up in Nashua on the last Tuesday of each month the first one is next week on the 26th.
My surgeon Dr Jeff Brown is starting our group up again. He use to practice in Nashua at both hopsitals but they cancelled there programs so he is now practicing out of the Winchester Hospital that has its Center of Excellance certification.
He is an amazing doctor and friend and does his best to attend each support group. He is always willing to answer questions and he is open to anyone attending post ops and any one that wants to learn more about surgery.
Please feel free to join us, it will be a greaat meeting. Oh the meetings will be held at the Senior Center on Temple St in Nashua...
I believe you are correct. CMC suggested Boston. Funny that whenever people need something serious in terms of surgery or consult, they say go to Boston.
Well, where exactly IN Boston?
Anyway, my friend did tell me about the upcoming support meeting. I will go to that for support. I am defeated and fat and would prefer to hide my head in the sand but this is the time to recognize the need for support, isn't it?
Thanks again ladies,
Kristen
Hi Kristen,
Our group starts tomorrow, evening at 7pm I hope you can join us. Dr. Brown was the leading surgeon in Nashua for RNY. He is a wonderful doctor and just the best friend anyone could have.
He takes on patients for follow up's when their surgeons have stopped practising bariatrics or have left the area...I too have put on pounds this past year but he didn't make me feel like a failure, he gave me incouragement to get back on track. Both myself and my girlfriend Monique have gained but are trying really hard to get it off.
The meeting tomorrow night is also for anyone that is interested in having surgery. So it should be a great way for all of us to take notes on getting back to basics and relossing the weight that has "found" us again....I will watch for you and look forward to meeting you...Laurie
Here's the thing ... I found that Dartmouth-Hitch**** in Lebanon NH does gastric revision, so I have started down the path of evaluation. I need to find out what is going on. I took the 5-day pouch test and it showed that my stomach anatomy has very likely changed. I thought I was going to have to go out of state.
I wrote a letter to my primary care doc who isn't fond of the surgery to begin with, as she was successful with Weigh****chers and believes it is my committment at issue. It surely does not feel that way! If she refers me, at least I will be on the road to discovery.
I will want and need support along this road so I appreciate your welcoming demeanor.
Kristen
Sorry you couldn't make it tonight, it was a great meeting and I found out that Dr.Brown and his partner Dr Ameri do, do revisions. They are out of the Winchester Hospital and their offices are in Stoneham. It's a short ride about 40 minutes so closer really than Dartmouth. If you need a new PCP I see Dr Lisa Scheib and she has no problem with surgery (mostly because she is Dr. Brown's wife...lol) I started seeing her after I had surgery. She is very open minded and really listens to her patients. The group tonight was small but 5 or the 7 of us are struggling with our weight too. I'm up close to 30lbs due to a crazy thyroid and not eatting enough and no exercise...3 of us are up 50+ lbs and one is up 20 so you would be in good company we are all buckling down, going back to basic's and getting our butts moving again...So mark your calendar for the 4th Tuesday of the month...I thought it was the last tuesday of the month but in a 5 week month it would be the 4th one,....
Take care and I hope you can make it next month...Laurie
