So exciting!! What a way to start 2010 :) I wish you all the best and you will be in my prayers. Tomorrow won't be as hard as you think. You'll be nervous and may not even feel hungry. My surgury was early as well and that is a bonus. It will be over before you know it.
Please post as soon as you feel up to it. Walk as much as you can and only sip sip sip.
Can't wait for you to join us on the other side!

oooh, good luck on Wednesday, I understand the excitement and nerves, I was just there last week.
Tomorrow won't be so hard on the liquid diet. I even went to a restaurant for my department holiday party and had chicken veg soup. I just asked the waiter for extra broth due to dietary restrictions. It was expensive broth for sure, but worth it. I also had a Sprite which was a huge treat since giving up soda over 6 months ago.
Plus, you likely have a lot of last minute things to do at the house, etc, that will keep you busy.
Make sure you have plenty of stretchy pants on hand for post op, I am still quite bloated, looking bigger than pre-op!

You will be just fine. It is totally normal to be nervous and excited. It is hard getting through the liquid day, just keep drinking as much as you can. Jello is good, the sugar free popsicles make you feel like you are chewing!! Broth is good also, just beware of the sodium.
I want to let you know also, that once you get home, you will weigh considerably more than when you went into the hospital. Everyone is completely shocked, even myself. I think I gained six pounds. You will lose it very quickly though, as long as you keep hydrated. It is just all of the fluids they give you pre and post op. Remember to bring your iPod or mp3 player, and chapstick. Something to read is good also.
But most of all, be confident that you have made the right decision, and that today is the last day of your old life and the birth of a new life.
Keep us posted.
