Kathy and Martha's Plans....and who ever else wants to join in!!
My plan for the day!!
1. I WILL NOT have peanut butter today. I will have greek yogurt with granola this morning for breakfast.
2. If I am hungry, and only if I am hungry will I have a snack of a cheese stick for lunch.
3. I have baked sweet potato fries and left over steak for lunch, less than three ounces. I am also going to stop off at Wendy's and get a side salad. I am going to the Commons for a walk at lunch time. Boy do I wish that Gillian or Bob from The Biggest Loser could come and get me out of the office and walking each noontime!!!!
4. I will have an apple for break
5. I meet with my trainer tonight, and will tell her that I need help getting out and exercising.
6. I will journal with the Daily Plate, and post my activities.
7. I will make an effort to stop off at the fish store and pick up swordfish for dinner either tonight or tomorrow night.
8. Both Gary and I need to get back into eating right and well. He needs to lose weight also, so I need to be proactive for both of us. I am also not going to try and put pressure on myself to be perfect for everyone else. Right now I need to concentrate on me....and to help Kathy and I get over this hump. I need to put into action what I tell everyone else!!!!!
Good morning, Martha -
Your plan for today sounds great. How did yesterday go? Did you call for that fill yet? Yesterday, I stayed on my plan and am very proud of getting through the day, even though it is just one day - but one day at a time, right?
My plan for today is a lot like yesterday's:
I'm going to continue to log my food and exercise into Fitday.
Shake for breakfast.
Either yogurt/kashi cereal/blueberries/flax seed or light cottage cheese with slice of whole grain cinnamin raisin toast and smart balance light margarine for snack.
Ham, rice and broccoli for lunch (still trying to get rid of those leftovers).
Apple for snack.
Homemade pea soup (fat skimmed from the broth when I made it) for dinner and maybe a cheese sandwich made with light American cheese.
Either a small box of raisins (about 100 cal.) or my 1"x1" square of 90% cocoa chocolate (about 60 cal.), depending on where I am for my caloric intake for the day.
I'm also going for a one-hour walk at lunch time today - yesterday, we did just over 3 miles in that time frame.
Finally, Dartmouth-Hitch**** support group meeting after work.
Have a great day!
Kathy
I wanted to tell you something about peanut butter. Have you ever heard of PB2? You have to buy it on-line at www.bellplantations.com. But what makes it so good is that ALL of the fat has been pressed out of it. It comes in powder form, and you rehydrate it with water. It tastes great, and a 2 T. serving is 58.2 calories (instead of the 200 you get from regular peanut butter). Just thought I'd pass it along. If you decide to try it, and you don't like it for some reason, I'll buy your supply from you so you don't lose out, but I'd be surprised if you don't like it. I even eat it straight from the jar in the powder form sometimes or throw it on low-fat ice cream, etc.
I also called and made my appointment. I see Dr. Gens on November 19th, which gives me time to get my act together!!
I think I've become a chocoholic since my WLS. I used to crave only the salty snacks before, but now I want the sweet ones. I don't feel bad about the dark chocolate I eat because that's one thing that I've still been able to maintain my limit on, probably because it's kind of bitter, but I still get the taste. I'm thinking of making it my reward at night - I will only allow myself to eat it if I've stayed on my plan all day.
I'm glad that you made your appointment. How many fills have you had so far?
I used to be such a chocoholic, but since I have had my surgery, not as much. I still struggle with the carbs though.
I will have to try it with chocolate. The dark chocolate is so much better for you. Sounds so good!
I have had 5 fills I think, but only have really felt definate restriction with the last one. But I am really getting hungry again, and eating way too much, way too fast.
You 2 are doing great things for one another (and I'm sure all those lurkers out there!) It is a lot of work planning and then coming here to type it all out. I have never liked journaling my food (I did it back in the WW days) but I know it can be very important (especially when you're concentrating on losing.)
About a month ago I stopped buying ice cream and soda. My husband and kids hate it, but if they want it, they have to go out and get it. I will occassionally get my husband some Sprite (for his "drinks"), but not on a weekly basis. I figure if they have to go out and get it, they might eat it less often.
I'll be popping on & off your thread if you don't mind. You guys keep up the great work and soon you'll be back on your way to losing and feeling good!
Take care and have a great day!
Lisa
Are you going to make the meeting tonight after all? I am definitely planning on going.
