oh so close to deciding.  The money..the scar...the pain.  It is all scary.   I really want to just get the rest of this off me and be done with it.  I should just take the leap.

I say, go for it!  As far as the money -- you can't take it with you anyway; the scar -- mine looks like a smile (and I am smiling these days to know that I'm all done); the pain -- disappears, I already don't remember just how bad it was (although I remember that it was bad, I'm over it now)

It really is a phenomenal feeling to know that I'm DONE and I love the results.

How far down does your scar go?  I was a big time pear and most so much of my weight was from the hip to the knee..really bad!

It's only about an inch below my groin.  It goes from just below the line where my tummy tuck was, down around the inside of my inner thigh.  When I stand with my legs together, the scars look like a smile.  The scars do not go down the inside of my leg to the knee like an arm lift does.

I might need the longer incision down to at least mid leg to get the good results.  My thighs are very bad.  :-(

Then I would talk to Dr. D about that.  He's the only one who can tell you if you'll need that for sure.  It's worth pursuing at the very least.

Gayle,

I'm currently on the pre-op diet for the program at DHMC. I know they have SlimFast Low Carb as the shake of choice. My first reaction to your symptoms is "are you getting enough protein?" I actually feel great and haven't had much hunger with my meals.

I've been changing it up a bit too. I'll do 2 shakes a day, but add one meal in there. And I alternate breakfast/lunch and dinner.

Ashleigh,

I am also doing this through DHMC and I was told no High Protein Slim Fast - becasue there is 24 grams of carbs.  Nothing over 5 grams of carbs or 5 grams of fat.  I asked about the low carb one, but that still has too many carbs and fat.  So I have been drinking 1 cup of milk with sugar free carnation instant breakfast with one scoop of protein powder.  Thats 30 gram of protein and I have that twice a day.  It doesn't taste bad, but I am always hungry, thats why I am having this surgery.  It was a very long two weeks and I am glad the surgery will be over tomorrow!!  I am so nervous now that it is actually here!!  I hope this cures my constant hunger.  Good Luck to you too!!

Wow, that's interesting. My paperwork says Low-Carb Slim Fast...the fat is high, but Diane was telling us that you just need to stay under 30g of fat/day. So the shake give me 9 and I'm only doing 2 a day. That's interesting.

Well at any rate, good luck to you tomorrow! I'll be going in a week after you :)
