Kind of bummed...

Today was the last day with my personal trainer.  He sent me a curve ball on Tue. saying his schedule has changed and he can't come anymore.  He does have faith that I can do this on my own (I made up my own program for this morning) but I'm not so sure.  I did invest in some adjustable weights (freaking $150) and there are other items I want (Bosu, Jungle Gym strap), but those will have to wait.  So, anyway, I'm kind of bummed, but VERY grateful that he was able to train me for 8 months.

On a brighter note, I "might" go through the process of becoming a certified Jazzercise instructor.  I was approached by the center owner a couple weeks ago.  We'll see.

Sorry you're losing your trainer.  It's hard when you depend on someone, but I know you'll do fine.  You are so committed to exercise and recognize all the benefits of staying active.  If you've had the benefit of a personal trainer for 8 months, you know what to do at this point anyway.  Plus becoming a certified Jazercise instructor is pretty cool!

Thanks for the encouragement Kathy!  I really want to stick with strength training....really!

Yes, I think strength training is key.  I miss it as I haven't done anything for 3 weeks now.  When I get back into an exercise program, I think it will be just walking for a while.  Can't wait to get back to PF to do the weights.

I know how you feel Lisa, I loose my trainer in December, and being so out of it for 3 months, I lost all of that time.  We are trying to cram everything in from now until the end of the year.  At least I had some notice though.  You will do fine, I am sure.  Like Kathy said, you are so dedicated to exercise, that I cannot see you stopping.  Plus you know the benefits of weight training.  I think it is awesome that your center has approached you.  You have done so great, and I think they are getting a terrific instructor.

Lisa, I admire you so much just from the meetings at DHMC and seeing how much you've lost. To look at you I never would have imagined you ever having a weight problem.
My OH exercise partner and I joined Planet Fitness because it's getting dark earlier and the cold weather is rolling in and we wanted to keep up with our routines. With their membership you get a free trainer to meet with as much as you want so I'm looking forward to seeing him help me really re-shape and get toned.
A jazzersize class sounds awesome. you should definitely post that when you become certified to do so, I her it's a lot of fun and would love to try it out some time.
You're amazing!

Thanks Jamie.  It was good to see you Tue.  You are looking fantastic!

I have been Jazzercising since 1989.  I was a certified instructor for about 1 year in 1992.  Then I had 4 kids and did Jazz on & off, but I'm there to stay forever now!  It's an excellent workout.  Good luck at Planet Fitness.  As I said on Tue, exercise is KEY!

Hey Ligsea,

I currently use a personal trainer and I am not sure if she has any openings but it may be worth it to give her a call. I know she is thinking about expanding and that may be a good idea. I am scheduled to see her three times a week. Which has really helped me focus on working out. I also too joined planet fitness on the west side for the other two days I do not see her. Anyway if you are interested  and what to check it out, here is the link to her website.
