Hi, I can also eat almost every thing there is but rice and bread. I can eat bread as long as it is toasted. This is not unusual with the band. That is why it is so necessary to change behaviors. I even found that now that I am more restricted, I can still eat everything but rice and bread. I have had more of a problem with things getting stuck, and sliming, but for the most part, I am not hungry, and feel full after eating a regular portion that I should be eating. My weight loss has slowed dramatically. I had lost 60 pounds by December (started in May with pre surgery, surgery on 8/14/08). I have lost a total of 8 pounds since then, but I am still losing, or staying the same. I have also had other medical issues which has prohibited me from exercising. Try not to get too discouraged. Try mixing up your exercise program, or adding more weight lifting. Also change what you are eating to incorporate more variety, if you are not already. Make sure you are getting all of your liquids in, and that you are not grazing or snacking on high calorie foods. If you feel that you still need more restriction talk to Dr. Gens about getting another fill. But remember, eating less may not be the issue. You may not be eating enough. You will make it through this...meanwhile, rejoice in the loss of 60 pounds. That is truly amazing.

Hi,
I am almost 1 year out and I've had 5 fills. After the 1st 4 fills I was still able to eat a lot more than I should and I was hungry all the time between meals. After the 5th fill it was totally different. I'm all of a sudden not hungry anymore between meals, and can only eat 4 oz or so of protein in 1 sitting. I do have a hard time with doughy breads, rice & pork for some reason? But it sounds like you may need another fill. I've also hit a plateau and hadn't lost any weight for 2 months now. I've lost around 60 lbs too. But I figured that I needed more exercise and was right, cause now I've dropped 3 lbs in 2 weeks! Just keep up on your exercise and don't get frustrated. I've had issues too with spitting up food, it happens A LOT. But I think it's because of eating too much too fast which is what I'm used to doing, it's how I've been eating all my life and it's hard to change that so quickly. I'm just afraid of the Band slipping or something. But keep up the good work, 60 lbs in 5 months is great!! :)

That is a good amount of weight in a short time! I am one of those that did not need many fills but my list of untolerable foods is long. Not sure which is harder actually! Pasta, bread, rice, some meats. It took me 1 1/2 years to reach goal and at 2 1/2 years I am 15 lbs under goal..so it WILL get there..just takes time. We are the tortoise of weight loss.
