Hi all, got my date!
Hello Everyone.
I am new around these parts, just wanted to say reading all your stories and having a place like is so encouraging.
I've been heavy my whole life and am VERY excited for this new journey.
My surgery is 9/28/09 at 7:00am. it will be done in Manchester, NH.
I am on the stage 2 diet and it's been 4 days now. I'm not going to lie, this is tough, but i know it just gets better.
I have an extra bonus for my surgery. My twin sister is having gastric bypass the same day. We are starting over together! We are the first twins to finish the program together and I could not be prouder of my sister.
This is going to be an interesting ride.....any advice for the new girl? :D

Congrats to you and to your sister! - I still have to pinch myself to remind myself that I had surgery (I am almost 3 mos out). I have no regrets whats so ever and and I thank my lucky stars everyday for my new life. This is the tool I needed.
My advice. Keep a positive attitude. Do what you are suppose, and keep smiling. Everything else will fall into place!!
It's wonderful that you will have this in common with your sister and you will have each other to lean on.
Keep us posted!

Well we are 1 week away from surgery. I'm excited and so ready and a little nervous. The Stage 2 liquid diet is hard, I have a lot of head hunger....but each day I get closer to my goal, it's getting easier! Holy cow, 1 Week Sara...and we will be sharing a hospital room, walking the halls together in our new slippers, ahhh I can't wait!
Yes, there is a lot that goes along with this process. Many appointments, taking the classes, Mandatory 10 pound weight loss. We also have to do 2 weeks before and after on the stage 2 diet.
an example of my day would be.
1/4c plain yogurt
1/4c cream of wheat
1/4c strained soup
1/4c sugar free pudding
1/4c strained soup
1/4c reduced calorie yogurt
Protein shake
you can also have crystal light, sugar free cool aid, water
it was hard the first few days. Giving up my diet coke was really hard for me...I used to drink them all the time,
Are you having surgery in Manchester at Eliott hospital too??
