"To Hell With The Scales!" LOL

7 weeks out and for the past 2 weeks I've lost 1 lb per week... Ugh!!  - I've always had a high metabolism so this floors me.  Granted, my exercise could be better (current'y 30min. 3x's a week)  but this still surprises me with only  taking in under 1000 calories a day.

I'm happy I'm not gaining and I know I'm doing what I'm suppose to.  Maybe I'll start weighing myself every 2 week instead of every week......?

Hi Cathy,

Well, I was up 3lbs this week.  I have no idea why.  I exercised more and ate tons of fruits and veggies (which I normally do not do.)  Our bodies just adjust daily.  Don't worry too much about the number on the scale (I know it's hard.)  You are doing what you're suppose to and the weight will come off.  If you're pushing yourself too hard, your body may say, "hey...slow down."  Remember, you are still healing.  Look at how much you have lost already!  That is amazing.  Your body needs to catch up.  Better to lose 1lb than not lose anything, right?

Hang in there!!!

Lisa

Hi Cathy,

Lisa is so right.  Your body's weight will fluctuate every day, depending on many different factors.  I weighed myself Sunday, and then again on Wednesday, and I was up 3 pounds.  I noticed that I had not drank nearly as much as I should have, and I have a tendency to retain fluid anyway.  Well, I increased my fluid, and weighed myself today, and I am down 2 pounds.  So many times, it is not how much we eat or drink, but what we eat, or even not getting the fluid in.

I think this process teaches us one amazing thing that we are not even aware of..and that is patience.  We know it will happen, we just have to be patient and rely on our skills and our tool to help us through.

Hi Kathy -  Sounds like you are doing good!!!
I have not lost a pound for 2 weeks, but I'm down to a size 18.........   so I'm losing inches.  I can't understand how the whole thing works, but I've decided not to get discouraged when the scale doesn't move.

I have had constant queasiness for the last week which has made it hard to get my food in, but I keep trying.  Hopefully this phase will pass.

This is a very common time for stalls for some reason. I have also found that when I do not see the scale move I often see the clothes sizes go down. Hang in there, the lbs will come off.

A month or so ago I thought I might be done losing because I had stayed the same for a while. Now all of a sudden I have lost another 5 lb!  Who knows!

Keep up the good work.

I was up 3 lbs this week too!! But we have to keep in mind that it has been hot - very hot and I think I'm retaining water. My rings are tight. I have to repeat to myself many times - I did not eat and extra 3500 calories to gain 1 pound!!
Cathy you are doing fantastic - just keep on going.
Lisa - I love the new pic - wow you are looking fabulous!!

I've started weighing myself less. I but i'm still sort of a fanatic.
I'm feeling great and that's the most important thing...but I've still a LONG way to go.
I don't have the patience that Martha keeps speaking of. I wish I could borrow some of hers!

I understand that!  For some reason I was thinking that the weight would come off quicker... Anyway, I know I'm moving in the right direction......  Good luck with it and thank you for posting.
