Fill for the first time

I must say firstly, that I am a bit nervous for my first fill, yet I am anxious as well.   I know that I need it, I can feel more of an appetite lately and know it is time, but I still have to wait another three weeks. I am nervous as well because I do not like needles and a silly question but....how does he know the right spot to go into in the port?? I know it sounds silly, but, any help would be great, what to expect for the first fill, and what to do about the hunger issues now until the fill.  I had the band done on June 15 and have lost 25 pounds from the surgery date till now. 

Hi, having your first fill is no sweat.  If your surgeon does it like Portsmouth, they will lay you down, and put a pillow behind your back so that you are at an arc.  They then give you a local to numb the area, and feel around for the port.  They know what they are feeling for, so even if you cannot tell where the needle should go, they know.  Sometimes Dr. Gens makes me do a sit up so he can feel it better.  I have never seen the needle that they use, because of the angle that I am at.  You feel a little tug here and there, but nothing that hurts.  Then they wipe the area and put a bandaid on you and you are good to go.  Nancy has us drink a small glass of water also, to make sure it goes down okay.  It is not bad at all, and you don't feel anything but a little tug here and there.  One time Dr. Gens had a problem finding my port because it had flipped, but I still did not feel anything but a tug here and there.  Don't get anxious at all, it is nothing!!  I was stressing over my first fill, and felt kind of embarrassed when he was done, and I had no idea that it would be so easy and fast.
