What would you put in a time capsule to be opened in forty years?

What a great question!  I guess one of the things I'd put in is a newspaper, which would not only contain the news of the day, but TV listings, movies, books, etc., . . . and maybe my ipod loaded with my music and pics.

what a great question!!  I would put in an album of pictures of just about everything I could fit in it. Me, my children, grandchild, cars, trucks, my house, our town.  You get the drift.  Kathy's input of a newspaper is excellent.  I might put a tabloid in...have to give them a laugh!!  and a cell phone!

I would write a letter and put it in. I'd tell my story and my family's story.
I thought about this for a while and that's what I'd do. I like Kathy's ipod idea as well :)

My husband and I write a letter to each other every year on our anniversary, then we put it away to open on the next anniversary.  It's neat every year to go back and reread the letters from each year.

I had a teacher in high school who had us write a letter to ourselves, then she mailed it to us a year later.  It was SUCH a neat experience!

My neice just opened a time capsule for her HS graduation that she created 13 yrs ago in kindergarten. It was very cool. She had lots of pictures, costs of things (mcdonalds burger, pair of jeans, average house in the area) letters from family members, wishes for the world, and current events. Popular styles of clothing and cars, etc would be good to include plus current events. Lots of family members contributed. There were a few popular toys in there as well.

Good question.

That's such a neat thing!!    I try to jot down the prices of things in my scrapbook.  It's always interesting to see how much things change over time.
