Hi everybody, haven`t really posted much lately , I have been busy researching whatthe Drs. claim I have .          BIPOLAR

I do not know much about it, do not understand it and i am afraid of the drugs that they use.    Currently I am on Seroquel which is an Anti Pyschotic and just the name scares me.

I am at my 1 year mark the 30th of this month but had to postpone my appt with dr. Gens until June 11th.

I believe I have lost 101 lbs , but will wait till the appt to officially update my weight.

I am getting thin, I have had collar bones before when I was thin (once)           but now my chest bones show.           I think breast bones are the proper name.                          Oh my Gosh ----no one ever should see me NAKED!!               I look like a 90 year old woman!!!

I apoligize to all 90 year old women.

I am saving $$$ for plastic surgery for my bat wings,             everything else no one sees, but if my arms were better looking I could wear tank tops, or all the cute summer dresses.

Well thats it for now.

Take Care NH

Hi Jen,

Do not be afraid of the medication you are on.  I was on seroquel for a while, but could not tolerate it.  You may be on several different ones before they find the right mix.  Don't be afraid to talk to me about this.  I have lived it for so many years, but now I am not embarrassed or afraid to talk about any of it, especially if it helps another.

Oh an ya!!!!!   CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS.  That is super.

Hi Jen,

Congrats on your one year! And your weight loss!! That's great! And better the bat wings and bones than the weight!
I've worked in the Mental Health field for a couple of decades now and Seroquel is not a bad medicine. Like Martha said, it might take some time to find the right combination of drug therapy for your condition, but have faith and it'll all come together for you.
The biggest mistake that those who need medication for mental illness is that once they start feeling well, they don't think they need the meds anymore. Then they go back into symptoms and have to start over.
If you can remember to stay on your med schedule and follow the docs suggestions, you'll do fine.
Best wishes to you!!

Diane
