In what way are you proud of yourself today?
I was really proud of myself over the last few days for using positive self talk to stick to my eating plan. We were at a cookout yesterday and today, and both times I was able to remind myself that I didn't HAVE to eat everything in sight. At yesterday's cookout, I even fixed carrots and green beans, and had a hamburger with no bun, with veggies on the side, while everyone else fixed their big burgers and chips. Instead of feeling deprived, I felt really really good for making a good choice!
If I had eaten the other stuff, I would have felt lousy afterwards AND felt guilty, plus, the scale would have shown a difference, in the wrong direction. Making the good choice made me feel good physically, but more importantly, it gave me more experience in decision making.

I'm with you Michele! Did good this weekend with food and exercise. Went to the beach today and brought my water and Kashi bars. Stopped on the way home for hubby & kids to get burgers and fries and I didn't need it as I had eaten my protein bar...I waited until I got home and then grilled some chicken. AND while at the beach I walked and jogged! Last summer I could barely move enough to walk along the beach without much knee pain, short windedness and now here I am fast walking and jogging!! I feel so good!!

I got my veggie garden planted yesterday, weeded and cleaned up all the rest of the gardens at our house and planted all of those. Getting the veggies planted involved spreading manure and some pretty extensive weeding. I'm proud of doing that because I'm not sore today. In the past, my husband would have had to do the spreading, I wouldn't have been able to finish the veggies, never mind do all the other gardens, and I certainly wouldn't be able to walk today!
