How many adjustments....
Had my band surgery back on 12/9/08 and I've had 5 adjustments so far!! It seems a bit excessive :( I was hungry all the time between meals and now that I had # 5 last week it seems a bit better, although my stomach still growls sometimes, especially after I get out of work around 4pm. (I have lunch at noon every day) I'm just wondering about others and how many adjustments different people have had. I've had 0.5 CC's put in everytime so I'm at about 3 CC's. I know it's different for everyone but it's been frustrating! I've been up and down the same 2-3 lbs for a month now. Any comments would be appreciated! Thanks for listening :)
Oh boy, do I know what you mean about gaining and losing the same 3 pounds!! I have been doing that for a while also. I have had my band since August, 2008. I am going in for my third fill next week. So far I am at 1.25. but you are right, everyone is different. I was not hungry, and lost a lot of weight my first three months. Now I am struggling a bit. I had a fill in January, and decided to call for another. I am now getting very hungry between meals. So don't worry about how many adjustments you have. There have been others who have had none, and some who have had 7 or 8. You just have to do what is right for you.
also, to stop some of that hunger, remember you are supposed to get in 60 to 90 grams of protein a day, so you may want to try and up the protein a bit. If you are hungry at 4:00 try and plan a snack at that time. It can be as small as a serving of nuts, almonds, some peanut butter crackers (real peanut butter), cheese, Laughing cow cheese, beef jerky, or anything else with protein. That will get you through the hunger. You may not be getting enough to eat, don't be afraid to have snacks. Just make sure you keep it to a small serving.
