Anyone else at DHMC
I went through DHMC in Manchester. I do not believe there are any support groups for pre-ops. You must already know about the12:00 info. meetings and the 2:00 meetings on Friday's (not sure which week of the month.) There is a support group for post-ops. It is the first Tue. of every month at DHMC in Manchester from 5-6pm.
Congrats on your weight loss so far.

I will be having surgery next week with Dr. Adreles. I switched to her from Dr. Trus because my surgeon consult with him would not be till the beginning of May due to a medical conference and I wanted to get my wls done asap. I was able to meet with her that week, which was mid-april.
I have not seen alot of DHMC-Lebanon people on here, maybe they are just ingognito. It would be nice if you could search by dr. and find people who have the same surgeon as you, but I have not found that yet.
I do check this board out every so often, but spend most of the time on the gastric bypass board.

Hi, I am new also, how did you lose the 40 lbs? I just started the liquid stage 2 pre op and am hungry already. I am not sure how i can continue this, my surgery is June 8. I really want to know why it is a liquid diet, and not just making us lose the weight like we did before. I understand getting used to the stuff for post op, and I understand will power, etc, but........Who is your surgeon?
My surgeon is Dr. Trus and I just met with him this week; once insurance gives the ok, I will be scheduled!
I lost 40 lbs since the first of the year on the Eat less, exercise more plan. Who knew what they have been telling me for years really works?
I gave up on snacking...have a salad and a yogurt at lunch, and have just tried to get myself used to smaller portions mentally before surgery.
The liquid diet pre op is sdesigned to make sure the liver shrinks so that laproscopic surgery will be more successful. I am not there yet and I am so nervous about that two weeks. Maybe they could just knock me out for two weeks, huh?
