I was thinking of getting a fish tank, however i never ever ever have had one.
Would it be laughable to start with a 5 galloon, i think I have seen 10 gallon tanks in homes before.
also are they hard to keep clean? i thought ( prob shouldn`t think)
I heard you add water to it every ???? and that is how you change the water instead of traumatizing the fish by cleaning the whole at once?

Hi Jen, I have two ten pounds, and one five pound tank. I started with a 2 pound tank. You just need a place to keep it that is out of the direct sun. I have a heater in all tanks, because we keep the heat low. I have two in my office at work! I had to change the water in the one at the office because it had an odor to it that was not good. I don't know why. It is doing very well now. you have to remember to change the filters every month. Just add water when needed, I usually add more in the winter than summer. I use bottled water. You also have to remember to get fish that go together well, and only get as many fish as the tank can handle, usually one fish per gallon of water. I have really good luck with tetras and corys. I feed them once a day, just be careful not to over feed.
I have only had to clean my ten gallon at home twice, and I have had it two years. I vacuum it every month.
I love my fish, they are very comforting, and of all my "pets" are the easiest. If you need anything else, let me know.
