Anyone who can tell me if this is normal after my first fill?

I drink 8 to 10 oz protein drink for breakfast (whey powder) 6:30 a.m.
1/2 banana or other small fruit at 9:30 or 10:00
1  hard boiled egg w/ 1 C lowfat cottage cheese noon
8 reduced fat crackers w/ lowfat cheese
1 Kashi protein bar 4:00
1 cup chili 6:30
1/2 C sf jello 9:00

I feel like I'm still eating a lot? I guess the portions are smaller than before the fill, but I still feel like there might not be enough restriction?

You really aren't eating that much food, I would give it a week or so and see how your weight loss goes. I'm not an expert, I had the RNY, but take a step back and really look at what you are eating now as compared to then. Keep a food journal so you can track the calories, fat, etc. You may find that your counts aren't as high as you may think.

I used to think I was eating too much for my surgery, but once I started really tracking what I eat each day, I saw that I was eating less than 1000 calories. Some days I was only getting 600 or so and I had to start adding food to get my calorie count up a little so that my body wouldn't be starving. Keep up the good work!

I agree that you are not eating as much as you think you are.  The fill is causing you to be fuller faster, and less hungry in between.  Are you tracking?  My Daily Plate is really good.  It will figure out your calories, carbs, and take off any exercise calories.

You are also eating 5 to 6 small meals which is perfect.

Thanks! I just got concerned that I wasn't full enough.
I lost 5 quick pounds after the fill and have put 3 back on after going back on reg foods.
I'm going ot the gym everyday, so I feel like I should be losing.
But you know I am very impatient.
That's what I really need to work on.
After all I do feel much better...
I'm just still terrified that I am going to put it all back on.
I think part of me still doesn't believe this is going to work for me.
Although it already is working!

diane, there is a tracking program on the web that allows you to track food and exercise.  It is a user friendly program.  I love it.  It is called "my daily plate"  I am posting the link if you would like to use it.  I have found it to be quite an eye opener.

Thanks Martha!
I went to the site you suggested.
It'll be helpful to count, but it said I should be on a 2400 calorie diet!!??
No way!

I try to stick between 1000 and 1200. Is that about right.
I don't think Jaquie ever said how many calories, just to watch for protein and low sugar?
So I calculated todays food and was at 700 after lunch.
I'll have to go back on and add dinner...probably over 1100 in the end.

Hi Diane,

Ya, it told me to eat about 1900 calories.  I stay between 1000 and 1200 usually.  the 1200 is on the days I workout, so net calories is about 500 to 700.  I just make sure my protein is up to where it is supposed to be.

Hi Diane,

I also don't feel like you are eating a whole lot when compared to what I am eating.  I had about a week where I did not really lose anything then the next week went down about 5.  I have not gotten a fill yet and I am not sure if I ever will.  I am still having some trouble getting regular foods down.  Even moist things sometimes get stuck.  I would definately start tracking how many calories you are actually consuming because it does not seem like very much.  Maybe you are not eating enough.  Your body can go into starvation mode if you don't have enough sometimes.  Just some thoughts.  Remember this is a lifetime change you need to still enjoy what you are eating. Maybe "spicing" it up a little will help.

Just my 2 cents.
