I'm going to admit to something

I have been doing well losing my 10 pounds requirement. I actually lost almost 20 pounds. Well ever since I got my date for surgery. I have got this idea in my head that I have to try this place to and that place to eat one last time before my surgery. What is wrong with me? I do so well at work. But whe nI get home I have to thought in my head to just eat something that I know I won't ever get to eat again. Don't get me wrong I know I will be a huge success with my surgery. But my god is it just me that has done this pre surgery.

And don't be ashamed - you are doing your best.  You are human!

First don't be ashamed. We all go through it.  It is called the "Last Supper Syndrome".  You think you will not be able to eat anything you did pre-op, so you want to get the "last" bite in.  You can do that, but try and limit to one day a week, and make it special.  My "last suppers" were Lobster, steamed clams, Olive Garden (Italian Margaritas can you say yummmmm), hot fudge sundae (small), and Filet Mignon.  The funny part was that I had filet mignon 3 months after surgery, and it was no big deal!!  The sugar things are not great now though.

So eat, enjoy, don't over splurge, and then go on.  Just don't beat yourself up, and be smart about it.
IF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH HELL.....KEEP GOING!!

You are not alone!! When I first decided about the surgery I ate everything in sight.
Then when I met with the Nut and got on the plan, I stuck to it but my head was like yours.
I'm fine all day while at work, I even go to the gym on my way home...but once home my head is
like a search engine thinking about what to eat.
It's a head trip. I use the tools I learned in the pre-op classes to get me through.
Also sugar free jello, pudding and popcycles can tame that lion that is just craving something!
Keep up the good work! One day at a time!

Thank you. I will use that advice. I know it's all a head game. My head has been playing these games all of my life. It's time to take my body back. Lol. It's not all the time so i'm glad of that. Once I'm on the other side and have a tool that says if you eat you will pay.I will be good.

I just heard from my insurance today and got the approval. I wasn't really worried too much about that. My insurance is good

I had my surgery over a year and a half ago.  I played the same head games.  But I'm here to say that you shouldn't worry about the foods "you'll never get to eat again" because:

1.  You will be able to eat them again.  I know I can eat anything I want.  I just can't eat a lot of them.  BUT, I DON"T want to eat a lot of them anyway.  I eat a small amount, and I am truly satisfied with that.

2.  You won't miss them like you think you'll miss them.  I swear, when they re-route your stomach, they re-route your brain too.  Right now, it's your addiction to food that is causing you to feel this way.  Trust me, you won't feel deprived after the surgery.

So, try to remind yourself of those two things when you get the urge to eat those foods that you think you'll never be able to enjoy again.  And keep up the good work.  You'll be on the loser's bench before you know it!

I think we have all had our "last suppers."  Mine was the entire week before I had to start the Phase 2 diet (2 weeks before my surgery.)  I enjoyed every minute of it.  Turns out I can still eat a lot of what I ate during that week, but MUCH smaller portions (with the exception of sugary foods which I can't really eat without feeling sick.)

You are totally normal and shouldn't feel ashamed AT ALL!

Good luck!
