Question (a little TMI)

Ok, here's my question.  I'm not a big fruit eater.  Yesterday throughout the day I ate a small container of black berries.  Well, I have extremely bad gas!  It is just horrible.  Do you think it's the blackberries.  That is the only thing I ate differently than usual.  Weird.  And, just now, I ate about 3/4 of another container.  Uh-oh!

Also, I have figured out I would much rather drink (coffee, water, protein drinks, alcohol, etc.) than eat.  Lately (the last 2 days or so)I have been feeling the food hasn't been going down.  It's very uncomfortable for me.  I try to eat slowly and take small bites, but the food isn't agreeing with me.  I try warm liquids when I feel something is stuck.  Sometimes it works but not all the time.

Just a little vent....

Yup, I'll bet it's the blackberries.  Whenever I want to clear a room, I just eat some fruit.  Works every time :)

I even went so far as to contact the Bean-O company, but they said their product doesn't help people who have gas from eating fruit.

Hi Kathy,

I remember you mentioning how fruit affects you.  That's how I came to realize it was the backberries doing it to me.

Yup...love Kathy's explanation!  It is definately the blackberries.  I have noticed that if I eat dried fruit it is not as bad.  I like cranraisins and cherries.  But oh boy, get out of my way with apricots and prunes!!!

Lisa, I don't think the food is a big thing right now, as long as you are getting your protein in.  Have you tried greek yogurt. It is really good.  The fruit ones are good, and I love the vanilla with almonds or granola in it.  You can even sweeten it with a LITTLE honey or sweetener.  I try to have some every day.

I know the feeling of getting stuck...it is not fun at all.  Hang in there, and let us know how you are feeling.

Hi Martha,

I "think" I'm getting enough protein in.  I don't count, but I try to have protein with every meal as well as a protein drink when I work out.  I also (sometimes) have a protein drink instead of water.

I have tried Greek yogurt.  The ones with the fruit make me so tired I need a nap after eating one.  The plain is too sour for me and I have yet to try a little honey or sugar to sweeten it up.  I have never been a yogurt fan.

You know the gas is probably the worst part of this journey. I have days where I am not hungry at all and drink more then I eat...then there are other days when I'm hungry more then I'd like. I try to listen to my body and not worry too much. I think working out has something to do with it and oh yeas those da** hormones.
