Shirley wanted me to post about the meeting last night. It was interesting. Not many old faces, plenty of new ones. Great questions. The people who were supposed to talk did not show last night, so Gary and Diana were gracious enough to share with us. Gary has done absolutely terrific since his RNY, and I cannot wait to go to his profile to see his pictures. Diana was wonderful also. Dr. Gens was there, and talked a bit afterward about the post on the office. He said he was so happy that someone posted it, because they want to know the good and the bad. They are having a meeting May 1 to address many of these issues. A question was asked if the group monitors the posts, and the answer was yes. Every post is read by Grant Sanborn. They do not want this to deter anyone from posting something though. Dr. Gens also answered some interesting questions from newbies...the fear factor, if the program stops at 5 years, things like that.
It was a good meeting, but missed all the regulars!! Remember the fourth Monday of the May is Memorial Day, so there is no meeting. Additionally, the post op meeting will be at the hospital. They will place signs, you need to enter through the main hospital entrance.
