Not looking for pain relief from the surgery, but for things going forward like headaches and such.  I spoke with the local pharmacist today and he recommended liquid tylenol but I'm concerned with the sugar content that it might make me dump.  What experiences have you guys had with liquid pain relievers?

I used the stuff they sent home for a while, then a couple of times I mixed the inside of a tylenol capsule into applesauce and at about 3 months I was able to swallow pills again.,

Hi Tom,

I actually have two bottles of liquid tylenol.  Just couldn't get it down! I did the same thing, I crushed two tables of motrin or tylenol and mixed it in my shake or in something else and took it that way.  I have a lap band, but I was also able to start taking the smaller round tablets about 3 months out.

I've been able to take pills from day one, at the very begining i took them cut in half, but even that i didn't do for long.  I am 7 months out and i take everything whole...even my multi and my calcium.  I know everyone is different but thats my experience.  Good luck!

Similar.  I still have 2 bottles of liquid Tylenol - unopened.  I found out early that I dump so I was not going to chance it.  I used the Tylenol capsules that I could break open and sprinkle on to sf pudding. I can now break a caplet in two and swallow them with no problems (since the 2-3 month mark).  T

As a Bander I use liquid tylenol and quickly drink sips of water to flush out the yuck taste.
But for GBP you have to be very careful of sugar and the effects from that may be worse than the headache  : _

Other meds I have in capsule I empty into a spoonful of sugar free jello or pudding.
That works well.

Best to you Sox fan!!
What a great opening day huh?

Honestly, after two weeks they had me swallowing the horsepill for my gallbladder....I just take all my pills like normal now.  Golly Gee the calcium is way bigger than a tylenol.

Tylenol makes a chewable.  It's hard to find, but it's out there.  It tastes a little chalky, but it's doable.  I called Tylenol to get the sugar content on these and it was within acceptable limits.  You're right to be careful with the liquid.  It has a lot of sugar in it.
