How often do you weigh yourself.

Last friday I went to the doctors and was weighed. Then I weighed myself today on my own scale and the amount was the same as last friday. How often should I be weighing myself?

Beginning Weight = 250
Surgery Weight = 229.1

I weigh myself once a week, same time every week, wearing basically the same thing.  Others weigh themselves daily, but that would just drive me crazy :-)

I'm one of those crazies that weighs every day. But I have to say, I weigh on the same scale everyday, same time of day and same weight of clothes. Over time I figured out my scale was very close to the docs, but that's not always the case. Some scales may be a few pounds different in either direction depending on their calibration.
Once a week is probably fine factoring fluid etc.
When I first started I weighed twice per day, once in a.m, once in p.m., there was usually about a 4 pound difference at night...(heavier), plus I had on heavier clothes...but I knew if it was down in the evening, it would be a good loss in the morning.
I don't do that anymore though, as that's a bit extreme.

I weighed in daily until about 3-4 months post op.  After that I went to weekly.  Same time, same day and wearing the same thing.  I'm so not obsessing over the scale anymore.  I record the number weekly and move on.

I very much look forward to the day that the scale doesn't really occur to me!!

At over a year out i still weigh myself everyday (well every morning I sleep in my own bed the night before)  Its always after i go to the bathroom and nekked!  For me its checks and balances.  Maybe a little of obsession... eitherway it keeps me honest and focused.  I know I will struggle with food for the rest of my life and if i see the creep on the scale its enough to scare me straight.

BTW I had a follow up yesterday and the scale in Nancy's office had me 4lbs heavier...No sweat i just came home and rechecked my scale:)

I weigh in every day and I get told "you'll drive yourself nuts". The truth is it does make me nuts but I am so afraid I'll gain wt and spend I don't know how many weeks taking off 2-3-4 lbs. I really do think it keeps me on track. I am an anomally, I was 6 weeks post op and discovered I didn't dump w/ sugar intake. knowing everyday that I am losing wt keeps me out of the cookie jar.

I step on the scale everyday as well. First thing in the morning - bare a** , before I drink anything and after I pee. I'm not crazy though. Some days (more often then not now) the scale doesn't move and I'm ok with it. It keeps me on task and focused. As long as I don't cross the line I'm ok with weighing everyday.

I weigh in nearly every morning.  I am developing the habit as per our behaviour modification psych's guidance (Jeff Wagner at PRH, that is).  It just makes sense to me.  I can't compensate (adjust) for added or lost weight if I don't know what I weigh.  So I track it.  Right now I am still losing.  But eventually I will be in danger of gaining if I don't begin to compensate.  Like you, I'd rather deal with a 4 lb loss than the need to lose 15 lbs!  I don't feel obsessive about the scale.  No single reading is all important, no single loss is the end of my journey, either.  I agree with you all, this is just a new life-time habit.  Good information so long as I am prepared to react to the numbers.  Treading
