Is the calcium citrate the one you can take without food? Thanks so much for all the info you provide, you are really GREAT! I appreciate everyone on this site, what a great place!

Hi,
Yes, I tried the Isotonix line of products.   They are expensive.  I believe they do absorb better, too.  I developed an ulcer at 5 wks post-op.  The meds for that seriously reduce your absorption ability.  Plus, I hated the chew-ables and they were making my tongue sore.  So I ordered the isotonix multi and the calcium plus.  I also ordered a bottle of NHR's Epic Ultra (liquid multi).  In the end, I gave up on the isotonix brand and I still use the NHR brand.  Here's why:  the calcium in the isotonix did not dissolve much at all.  I'd throw down the jigger and all of the calcium was stuck in the bottom of the cup.  Too much money to wind up with chalk in a cup.  The isotonix multi tasted just fine.  But so did the NHR brand and for less $$.  I now get my calcium in by a variety of methods.  I take half of a huge tablet.  I put UpcalD powder in a Crystal light drink, and I take Bariatric Adv lozenges on the road.   I'm waiting on my 6 mo labs now so i can't really report any evidence.  But I felt it was worth my $$ to try the liquids.  THANKS very much for the info on FLAX spending - I didn't know that.  Treading
