Help! Dinner Mints are after me!
Ok, so as is my tradition, (or habit), I buy a bag of small dinner mints to put in the pot o gold container I have for St. Patty's Day, as the week moves forward I've gone from trying one, to two, to a small handful of mints and they melt in my mouth, go down smooth! I've even gone so far as to check the package and see they are 15 pieces is 60 calories and part of me is thinking "that's not so bad." But now my 13 y.o daughter came home from a bday party with some hershey mini's and they are calling my name! I cannot allow myself to go down this road!! I'm only in my 3rd week postop and I've done so well...but the mints etc. and sugar crave are driving me nuts right now! Anyone else have this problem?? And any ideas? I'm trying to divert my attention and drink some water...

How attached to this st patty's container are you? I would toss it if it weren't a gift from my long lost great aunt.
I keep a drawer in my kitchen for stuff that will tempt me. I call it Jim's drawer. My husbands name is Jim. I can't readily see whats in there so I don't get into it. Maybe your daughter would be willing to hide the candy or not eat in front of you.
These are some ideas I had, hope it helps

I agree. If your daughter can, have her keep it upstairs in her room, totally hidden from you. To get to it, you absolutely have to SEARCH for it, and maybe during that search you can talk to yourself, or not search at all.
As for that pot of gold container, let's see...it is once a year, perhaps sugar free after dinner mints, or sugar free candy.....or just get rid of it as was suggested.
Hang in there Diane, it is hard, but our bodies do not control what we put in them as lap banders. This is an excellent opportunity to change a behavior or habit.
