dream about a pastrami sandwich

So this is pretty funny, I don't think I dreamed about food at all prior to surgery...today I had a nap and dreamed I was in a restaurant in north conway and ordered a pastrami sandwich...everyone at the table ordered huge plates of food, french fries, cheesy meals...and the waiter (one of my sons) brought me a half a pastrami sandwich and I asked where was the other half? LOL
I woke up and thought wow that was really bizarre...and I told my son who is not a waiter, and he said "yeah I bet you'll be dreaming about food".
So, has anyone else had this experience post-op?
I'm feeling pretty good, but I am tired and I feel full and bloated a lot.
trying to get in the protein and water...and the two pills I take at night that I must crush are gross.
But so far so good!!

And can anyone tell me what is CIB? I imagine it's some kind of protein drink.
I'm using whey powder from Walmart...and EAS premixed drinks.

Hi Diane,

I dream about food all of the time.  It is not unusual.  At least you dreamed you were being good, and you were getting support from your son!!

You will feel tired for a couple of weeks with the lap band.  you will also feel bloated.  That is the gas.  Walking is great for that.

CIB is Carnation Instant Breakfast.....It took me a while to learn what it was!!!  If you do use it, you need to add more protein, like a small scoop of protein powder or non fat dry milk.
IF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH HELL.....KEEP GOING!!

I didn't dream of food, but from the time I was recovering in the hospital I wanted a tuna fish sandwich.   I mean, I CRAVED it!  It was awful!  Then, when I got to the puree stage and could have really soft stuff and got the ok for tuna, it tasted like crap to me!  WAAHHH!

Oh well, I'm over it now.

thanks you guys for letting me know I'm going through normal stages...
This board has been so helpful for feeling like I'm not alone.
I appreciate it a lot.

I dream about eating all the time.  After I quit smoking, I dreamt of smoking for about 2 or 3 years.  My dreams felt so real that I would wake up and wonder if I had started up smoking again!  The food is the same thing.  It must be our subconciouses trying to deal with the withdrawals because food can be an addiction as much as anything else.

As for the CIBs, I mix one (make sure you get the "no sugar added" ones) with 8 oz. of skim milk and a scoop of the EAS chocolate whey powder.  They're yummy, and I have one every morning.
