I have a date!

Woohoooooo....I got my insurance approval today and a surgery date!  I will have lap RNY on 4/14/09 at DHMC in Lebanon.  I can't wait to join you all on the losers' bench!!!

Hi Anne,

I am scheduled to go to my first informational meeting the first friday of March at DHMC in Lebanon.  I spoke with Julie in the Bariatric department and she told me that the department has done 86 sugeries in the last year (between 4 surgeons) That doesn't sound like alot to me.  Do you have any info you can share about the surgeons and the facility?  I have AETNA as well.

Cathy--I have complete confidence in the program.  They are very thorough.  The hospital's statistics for complications are excellent!  My surgeon has never had a death or leak, and has been doing the procedure for 7 years.  She has had only 1 patient develop a stricture.  I'm sure you will learn a lot at the informational meeting.  Best of luck to you on your journey!
