Timeline

Hello all,

I was just wondering how long it usually takes for insurance approval after you have submitted all of your information.  I had first meeting with Dr. Pacuilli on Monday and my 2nd meeting with Jackie today.  They said they would submit all of the paperwork soon.  Just wondering how long others have had to wait.  I'm anxious to get everything started.

Depends on ins company. I got a letter before the Dr's office got thiers.  I have Anthem BCBS.  They had it back within a week.

I had Harvard Pilgrim Health at the time (wish I still did!).  They faxed the stuff and we had approval in less than 24 hours.  I went to my Information Night June 26, 2007 and had my surgery November 7, 2007.  I actually could have had my surgery a month earlier than I did, but November worked better for me.

It seems to depend on insurance and if all of your other post op tests/appt.s are done.
Once everything is done and ins approved it's usually within a couple weeks!

Thanks to everyone *****plied.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that my timing works out.  I have 2 weeks off from work in the middle of March that I am hoping to have it during.

I went to the informational meeting 8/6/08 and have surgery scheduled for 3/31/09.  Ins company is CIGNA.

Thanks for all your posts.  I actually got a letter from my insurance company on Saturday saying that it was approved.  It probably only took a couple days to get approved.  You gotta love BCBS.  I am going to give Dr. Pacuilli's office a call this week to hopefully schedule it.
