First meeting with my new personal trainer!
So what did he have you do? I've been doing basically the same stuff for about a year. The doctor gave me several different things to do so I do mix it up, but I'm wondering if my body needs a change at this point. The doctor who originally prepared the various programs is no longer at Tufts, which is very sad. I've been thinking of trying to find out how to contact him or get a personal trainer.

Hi Kathy,
I'm going to do mostly strength training with him because I do Jazzercise M/W/F. Today was various st moves like squats, abs, arms, hamstrings, triceps, back then stretching. We did a total of 45mins and according to my hr monitor, I burned 500cals. I was a bag of sweat.

PS-Not sure of his schedule, but I could ask him if he's interested in taking on someone else. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm having my arms and lower body done at the same time.
It will be done at Tufts Medical Center by Dr. Davidson. I like him very much, and he has spoken to our support groups numerous times. He does a lot WLS patients, and I've spoken personally with a lot of them. He comes highly recommended, and he is very approachable. He gave me his e-mail and has taken the time to answer all of my questions, both at the consult and later via several e-mails. I also found him and his secretary, Cheryl, to be great advocates regarding the insurance company.
I also had a consult with Dr. Bruce Topol here in Manchester. I also liked him and probably would have preferred to have the procedure done here in Manchester because CMC is right down the street from me, and my daughter is an RN there. But Dr. Topol would only do one of the two procedures that I wanted, and he really wanted to do what I needed in three procedures. Plus, I didn't like the way he was going to do my arms. The scar would never show to me because it would be down the back of my arms, but it would show to everyone else.
Dr. Davidson is putting the scar under my arms, so no one will see it unless I raise my arms. The other procedure I'm having is a lower body lift, which will take care of the tummy, outer thighs and buttocks. Dr. D swears that I'll be able to put a bikini on after it's all done (and the scar will be placed in such a way that it won't show) - LOL - I've NEVER worn a 2-piece, let alone a bikini!
As it turns out my insurance (GEHA) will cover the tummy tuck portion of the surgery, saving me about $3K. The total cost at Tufts for both procedures is $16K, leaving a balance of about $13K for me.
I'm having it done on 3/23 and, supposedly, I'll be in tip-top shape for my daughter's bridal shower at the beginning of May. I'm planning to be out of work for 6 weeks. I have the time available to me. If I need less, then great, otherwise, I'll take the full amount of time I need. By the way, I will only spend one night in the hospital.
My second wish list would be inner thighs and breast augmentation, but honestly, I don't know about spending any more $$$$ on plastics. I'll have to wait and see on that.
Hope this info. helps. Glad to answer any other questions you may have.

In order to keep your body from getting used to what you are doing and therefore very resistant to it still working well or causing any additinal change (ie. muscle bulding, etc) you should change things around every 2-3 months.
So trying a new kind of cardio exercise or weight training in a different way (ie. lighter and more reps or heavier and less reps, etc) will help your body continue to reap the full benefit and prevent fitness plateaus. Just FYI.
