Plastic Surgery
I just got the call that my insurance company has approved a portion of my plastic surgery. I am so happy. I'm having arms and a lower body lift done, which are tentatively scheduled for 3/23. I think they will cover the apron removal portion of the surgery. I have so many emotions running through my blood right now: fear, excitement, fear, happiness, fear -- did I mention that I'm a little afraid?!?!?!?? But I'm so anxious too!

Hi Kathy,
That is such good news. I am so happy for you. I can understand being a little afraid, but you will be fine. Such a long time to wait!!! One of the women in our support group who had lap band surgery had plastic surgery done this summer. She had a tummy tuck, I think. She did awesome, and looks so good. She also said it was not as bad as she thought it would be, and well worth it.
Wow, this is such good news. I am glad you shared.

I have Government Employees Hospital Assurance (GEHA) through the federal government. They required pictures taken by the doctor as well as documentation proving that I tried to treat a recurring rash. I had 4 prescriptions for a topical cream, so I sent them copies of the receipts for them. I think that the doc also mentioned that I had a rash.

Congratulations on your approval! This is wonderful news. I'm sure you're going to feel so much better once that extra skin is gone. I'm hoping in the next couple of years to be able to get mine done, but I know it won't be covered by insurance. I haven't had anything even close to a rash (RATS!).
I'm sure you will handle the surgery just fine. You got through WLS and you'll have all of us here to lean on.
