Snow Shoeing Anyone?
Okay, so I've done a little research for snow shoeing. I was looking for someplace where those who don't have their own show shoes, can rent them. The Audubon Society in Auburn rents them. Here's the site:

I also found a Beginner Winter Tracking Showshoe Walk through the Commujnity Services at CMC. It's scheduled for 2/19 from 10 to 2 (President's Day) at Bear Brook State Park. It's filled up currently, but I'm on the waiting list. When I told the lady at Ask-A-Nurse (that's the contact number) that we were a group of WLS patients who wanted to get together to try it out, she thought that was pretty neat. She said she would pass that on to the program instructor. She said the instructor was talking about possibly doing another walk because this one filled up so fast. So she took my name and number and will contact me if there's another one scheduled.
So, we can wait for CMC or we can schedule a weekend at the Audubon or we can do something else entirely.
So is there any interest? What/when would you like to do?

Hi Kathy, thanks so much for doing the leg work on this. President's Day weekend I will be in Florida (Sorry guys!) We come back late Monday night. The next weekend we are in Colebrook. I am home the weekend before (I believe) and the last weekend in February.
Keep me posted. I am still very interested.

Hello all,
I am new to the site. I think that snowshoeing would be great. I actually have my own pair but would love to get together with other WLS patients. My surgery has not yet been set but my first meeting with Dr. Pacuilli is 2/9. I work 6 days a week so my schedule is pretty full but I am off every Sunday or possibly Saturday morning.
Thanks
Kalya

Ask-a-Nurse just called. They have scheduled a second walk at Bear Brook, but it's on 2/26, which is a Thursday, from 10-2. I can't go, but if any of you are interested in attending (they rent snow shoes), you can sign up with Ask-a-Nurse (603-626-2626). She said that she expected the class to fill quickly. They scheduled it during the week because it's school vacation week.
I also can't go the last weekend in February because I'm leaving for Jamaica on the 28th and, as much as I love snow shoeing, beachcombing is by far my favorite sport!

I believe that America's Stonehenge in Salem, NH, also rents snowshoes. I am very interested and have Thursdays off from work. Maybe we should shoot for a date in March so everyone has some time to plan. What do people think?
