Losing too much weight?
I know we have discussed this topic in support but has anyone lost too much weight? My goal was 140 but I am down to 130.3 as of this morning. My ribs are sticking out as well as my hip bones and the bones in my back. I saw Dr. Looser two weeks ago and he thought I looked fantasti****il I lifted my shirt and showed him my ribs.
I have had problems since my operation in July. I ended up in the hospital for about 6 weeks and had 5 operations related to my RNY. And for the past month or so I have been nauseous and vomiting but we have run tests and can't find out what is going on. I see Jacqui tomorrow to figure out our next step.
HELP!
My first question is how tall are you?
I am 5.8. and My original goal was 150lbs.... well I met that and I wasn't happy, so I made it 140lbs. Now im sitting at 135lbs and wondering when or if i will ever really know where i should be at as far as weight.
You have had lots of complications. I think give it some time and see if your body settles down for a while. You are still pretty new to this. Jackie will be very helpful. If you log your food bring the journal with you to give her an idea of what you are eating and how much.
I actually just sched a day with her to test my RMR.
If you are healthy and feel good, I wouldn't worry too much. But if you are having complications due to being too thin I would take a good look at your menu and adjust it as necessary.
We have a general support group meeting tonight, If you can make it Jackie and Nancy are usually there, you can bounce some ideas off of them.
(plus us regulars will be there too)
Good luck,
K8

Start 260/ Surgery 249/ Goal 140/ Current 135 5.8"
Thanks Kate.
I am actually seeing Jacqui tomorrow. I go through cycles where I feel fine for 2 or 3 weeks and can eat anything and then I crash for a couple weeks of feeling nauseous and vomiting. I am in the crash zone this week. Not sure what causes it because I don't change my diet at all.
I am 5'3" and my ideal weight, according to the health dept., should be 130. But I have been losing .5 - 1 lb almost daily. I was happy at 150 and really happy at 140. Everyone thinks I look sick now, which I do. I just hope my body knows when to stop losing the weight.
