1/25 QOTD: Your splurge....
Aww, C, that is troubling news. But maybe you have a plan?
I've just finished eating a salad for dinner. Yes, a salad with fresh veggies and raosted chicken and RF chhese, and pumpkin seeds. Delicious and I am so excited to be able to have fresh anything. I adore the Vermont Farms SF Bacon Vinagrette- so good. I'm taking it slow but in the past two weeks I've sucessfully added cukes, tomatoes, peppers, spinach, and berry fruits to my diet. Later tonight If I have room I'm going to have some SF Bana cream pudding (with protein added) and some berries and a tiny bit of bananas. I never have more than 1/4 c of fruit (to prevent dumping) and so far I've done great. I've had braeburn apple slices with Smuckers SF Caramel Topping (pure, unadulterated heaven), blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. Devine.
Rosemary, what a hoot. Jewelry is my new passion, too. And I am looking for a jewelry amoire as well. I've run out of weekend though so that will have to wait for another day. Too funny.

My job being eliminated/changed beyond recognition is something that's been discussed every year for the last two or three years, so it definitely wasn't a surprise. I have always wanted to stay home with my son when he was school age, so this just works out perfectly. I'm a little nervous about money, but I'm sure we'll manage just fine. Sometimes things happen for a reason. :) I'm sad but not upset.
I'm sorry you'll be losing your job next year, but it sounds like you're okay with it, which is good. My Mom always says that things always work out for the best, even if we can't see how at the time. And you know, she's always been right on that. Hang in there.

I wouldn't say that I've splurged on any one particular thing lately, but I have bought myself more clothes recently than I ever have before. I still look for bargains, but if I see something I like, and it fits, I buy it. Last week, I bought myself a winter jacket. I've been wearing my 3X, and had pretty much decided that I would wait until next year to replace it because I'm planning on plastic surgery in March, but I found one at LL Bean that had all the features I liked, so I just got it. Saturday, I went to Kohl's and got 2 new bathing suits on sale for our trip to Jamaica (oh, maybe Jamaica could be called a splurge!). Yesterday, I bought 2 dresses on Overstock.com, although I plan to keep just one of them. Anwyay, all these "little" expenditures can add up to one big splurge, so I've got to start being a little more careful!

I guess I would say that I splurged on a new fitness watch. This one is really great because it actually can take your HR without having that chest band that mos****ches need. The brand is MIO and you can also add your calories eaten into it and it tells you how many calories you have burned throughout the day.
