These days people are pinching pennies and living frugally, but we want to know: What's the last thing you splurged on?

A new MP3 player and speakers, so I can listen to all kinds of music while I work, and I have a better, smaller one for working out.

Friday night I ordered a "Track3" handheld device for tracking food, exercise, and blood sugars.  At about $86 it isn't too huge a splurge but I consider it a splurge because I certainly could continue with my paper tracking system or I could take the time to use the free on-line systems (like Fitday) at night.  Instead, I spent the money and I'll have this nifty little IT gadget with me and I can punch it all in during the day (including having it calculate the nutritional data for my homemade recipes!) and I can connect to my home PC at night if I want to print a report and so on.  I sure hope it works as well as it says it does.  I'll let you all know.  T

I asked for and got a great armoire for Christmas from my DH.  He bought it at JC Penney.  It has drawers all the way to the floor, and I filled the entire thing!  But that's probably partly because I still have a lot of jewelry that I had as a teenager, and I have all of my MIL's jewelry as well as some pieces that my Mom gave me.  I put my scarves and wraps in the bottom two drawers.  What I really like about it is that the side doors have several hooks for hanging necklaces.  Most of the ones I saw had only 3 or 4 hooks.  This one has 8 (or is it 10?) hooks in each door.  It's really, really nice.  I think it came in cherry and walnut finish.  Mine's the walnut finish.

treading-  I started using my fitday program again.  I use a little notebook to jot down what I eat when I am away from home, then put it into the computer as soon as I get home.  It's a pain in the butt, but it's working for me so far.

I haven't splurged on anything lately.  I just found out that my job is being cut for next year, so I am trying to be very careful with every penny for the next five months while I am still working!
