Speaking up for Yourself
I posted a rant a couple of days ago because my best friend had made some comments I found hurtful. I wanted to thank all of you who offered me feedback and support. I did send her an email and she accepted what I had to say and apologized. I'm sure there will be many more events like this in my life. I want to encourage anyone who might be dealing with this themselves to speak up. I didn't blast this person, I just politely asked for some limits in what she says to me. It worked, at at least for right now. People being what they are, I'm sure this will happen again, and if it does I will speak about my feelings again. In the meantime, I'm so grateful for the positive stuff I've gotten from you all. Thank you.

Thanks! I'm thinking, though, that if speaking up had cost me a friend I'd have to look at whether it really was much of a cost. I'm glad I didn't have to look at that.
