Hi Everyone...I just wanted to say hello.  I am on my way to having RNY surgery....hopefully soon! I have to go to 2 more classes and I meet Dr Paciulli on Monday. I am nervous and I still am 2 lbs over my goal and trying my hardest to lose it.....any suggestions? I have been on this site everyday for weeks. I have definately become addicted! Well, I just wanted to say hi and thank you for all of the info that I have found in here. I have found so much info on everything in the posts. I am still trying to figure out how to do everything on the home page and will be working on that now.

Hello,
My name is Garry and I had surgery in October. Dr. Paciulli did my surgery and she did a great job. Today I reached 100 pounds loss since this all began back in June. Do not worry about the two pounds because you still have plenty of time before surgery. Remember what Dr. Wagner said in one of the first classes, you have to cut 3500 calories out of you diet to lose 1 pound. I made sure I walked everyday and if it was bad weather I would walk around Walmart, Sam's Club, ect. Just do not put added pressure on yourself and you will be fine. I hope to see you at the support meeting on January 26th., these groups are very helpful before and after the surgery.

Hi Garry! Congrats on losing 100lbs that is great!  I am glad that Dr Paciulli is a good doctor. When Nancy asked me if I had a preference I really didnt since I had read alot of nice things in the posts about all of the doctors there. I definately will be at that meeting. I think I am just anxious and want to have the surgery (literally tonight if I could...lol just kidding) but, I am sure by the time I am scheduled I will think that the time did go by so quickly.

Hi and Welcome

Yes the boards are addicting, but it is much better than food    Everyone here is fantastic, and you will soon become one of the family.  Don't worry about the weight, two pounds is nothing...make sure you give yourself a cushion, so even if you have lost what you are supposed to, keep losing.  Just remember, the more you lose pre-surgery is the less you have to lose post surgery.

Definately come to the meeting on the 26th (yes I finally have the date right).  You will learn so much, and feel so much better about the ride you are about to venture out on.

See you then.
IF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH HELL.....KEEP GOING!!

You have plenty of time to lose the two pounds.  :)  Just keep drinking water, exercising, and making good food choices.

Welcome and hello back!  Two pounds?  YOU CAN DO IT!  I know it's scary but you can do it!  I agree with Bamma, give yourself a little extra cushion if you can.  I understand the anxiety.  I was a couple of pounds under my goal weight on my surgery day and I was STILL sweatin' it, lol!  But, I got to the other side and so can you.  I hope you will come to the meeting on the 26th.  The meetings really help.

A Hearty wlecome to You!
At 4 months post-op, I can't believe how time changes.  The whole pre-op phase for me was very edge-of-the-seat, gotta do this, gotta get that done, and time seemed so slow.  I woke from surgery and it had all changed.  My perception of time is entirely different.  These forums were very helpful to me, too, and I read and read and read.  It's all good and all necessary, I think.  Best of luck to you and nice to meet you.  Treading
