Support Group Meeting Monday PRH
Does anyone go to the pre-op meetings on the third Monday of the month in Portsmouth? I went to one at the parkland in Derry and my wife and I were really hoping to get to speak with someone that had the RNY surgery. She is scared to death at this moment with my date coming up soon. I need help convincing her. Anyway, Dr. Wagner was there and he Parkland Nutritionist and one other pre-op guy. We chatted but I did not get what I wanted (speak with a post-op RYN patient). I really want to.
Does anyone who had the RNY feel comfortable with meeting with my wife and I? I really need help with her. She needs to know that this is a safe thing.
Let me know.

Hi Denny,
Definately go to the Monday night meeting on the 18th. There are many people there that have had RNY. I will be there. Umber will definately talk with you about her surgery. She has done excellent. Also Rosemary who has also done awesome. I will try and get there early, and introduce you to everyone. Try and get there a bit early, so you can chat. Many stay afterwards also. If Frank is there, he is definately one to talk with. There are some scary things that have happened, but it is rare, and treatable.
Congratulations on getting a date. Think of it as the first day of your new life!!!!

This is taken from the PRH web site. Based on this I believe the January General Support meeting will be on Monday, January 26th. There are plenty of RNY folks at this meeting as Bamma stated.
Portsmouth: 4th Monday of every month at 6:30 pm at 155 Borthwick Ave, East Building, third floor (just down the street from the hospital).

I'd be happy to answer any questions your wife has. Please feel free to email me. I can understand how she feels. I had the surgery and I felt that way before it myself sometimes.
I live in Plaistow, which is not too far from Fremont.
