Shot of Protein

Hi All:

While shopping at Wal*Mart this weekend, I noticed that Whey Protein has a "shot" of liquid protein that has no calories or suger but 26g of protein. I tried it this morning and although it does not taste like fruit punch, it was not that hard to get down.

I have been having a hard time getting all my protein in due to nausea and vomiting so I think this is a good thing. Has anyone else come across any other "shots" of protein to try?

I found those too.  They are a more affordable version of the protein "bullets" sold elsewhere.  Unfortunately, I had read and then my nutritionist confirmed that, while they look great at first, they actually aren't a particularly good quality protein.  My own thought is that it's probably better than nothing at all if you are having trouble getting in enough protein.  Maybe it can help  keep you going until you can find another protein source that works for you.  Good luck!

Donna is right, they are not the best type of protein.  The bullets were the only thing I could keep down for a long time.  I mixed them with water and sipped on it all day. The NUT said it was better than nothing.  I was so paranoid about losing my hair.  At one point I was eating the protein bars that they sell at the vitamin stores.  They do have a lot of calories and some sugars.  I cut them into little pieces and ate them over the course of the day.  I needed the calories.  However at 9 months, they want me to increase my proteins so I tried the powders again  I'm finally able to tolerate them and mix a scoop into my coffee 2x day.  So keep trying different things.  What you can tolerate or like now will be totally different in a couple months.  Its funny because I can't stand the smell of the bullets now.

Thanks to you and Donna for providing me with that information. It is the only thing right now that I am keeping down. After 5 months I have reverted back to Stage 3 because of my nausea and vomiting.

I do hope eventually that things settle down and I can get on with life. Thanks again!
