Excessive Hunger

Hi all,
I could use some help with excessive hunger. I had my lapband March '07. My starting weight was 223 and I'm now at 168. I've gained about 5 pounds slowly though I think I do well on the food and I'm doing 40 minutes elliptical every other day.
Anyway, I've struggled with the excessive hunger since the beginning. Despite 4 fills, I'm still painfully hungry especially between breakfast and lunch.
I believe alot of my weight gain is because I'm so hungry. When I'm not hungry, I don't need the Koshi bar between meals.
Any ideas would be appreciated especially creative ways to get in protein to curb the hunger.
Happy Holidays!

First how much protein are you getting?  I found that my hunger was because I was not getting enough protein.  See if stepping up on the protein intake helps.  Also when did you start exercising as you are now.  Remember, exercise increases your metabolism, so you may need a bit more to eat the days you work out.  I have started adding more protein.  I drink one Isopure a day now, half in the am, half in the pm.  I also drink the Kellog's special k water.  It has 6 grams of protein per serving.  Don't be afraid to eat that Kashi bar, or Oh Yeah bars.   Low fat cheese is excellent also.  I also find that drinking water, crystal light, or other 0 or close to 0 calorie drinks helps with the hunger.  Hopefully these helped.  Let me know how you make out.
