Hi Jenn,

I feel your pain.  I had a huge wound for quite a while after surgery and I went to Wound Care at PRH with Dr. Gens.  It definitely was not a fun time, but you'll get through it.  They even give you a T-shirt when you are discharged!  :)

Definitely try to get your protein in - it really helps with the healing.

Best of luck!

Angela

 Jenn,
I'm so sorry things have not improved for you. You have had a difficult time. Things will get better and hopefully soon this will all just be a memory...and a great war story to tell your kids :)
Hang in there.

Well, now that I know I get a tshirt, I'll stick with it!  LOL!

I have rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia - diagnosed 15 years years ago and spent my 16th birthday in the hospital at PRH.  Been on anti inflammatories and steriods, plus a plethora of other stuff since then.  I had my surgery lap, but got the infection in my main incision site.

Thanks for the info on the family planning place in Manchester - I am DEFINITELY going to check them out!

I really appreciate all of you.

Be grateful only your wound is infected.  I had RNY in July and ended up1.5 months in the hospital (in and out) and 5 surgeries. I was the .1% of the people that had problems. And to this day, I am still nauseous everyday and ralphing a few times a week.

I had a problem with migraines while on birth control and had a hysterectomy to take care of the problem. I have NOT had a migraine since. I am sure you don't want to think about another operation at this time but maybe in the future.

Hang in there. Just when you think you have it bad, someone else comes along that is worse off.

Hi Jenn,

Sorry to hear all that you have been through since your surgery.
Hang in there it will get better.
Colace is just the one brand of stool softener's and they are no different than the Wal-Mart brand for 3.00 for a bottle of 100 I think...they were much easier to find and have all the same ingredients as colace.
for your migraines, if your insurance covers Chiropractic they can help you with the migraines. I use to get them every other week and after a few months of adjustments, I have not had one in a very long time, well over 2 yrs now.
I hope things get better for you and you will soon find that the RNY was a good thing, that you did for yourself....

Have a good night...Laurie
