I have my Lapband surgery on 12/8.   After my surgery I intend on going to them.  What time are they?  I get out of work at 4PM in New London..and it takes about 1 hr to get there.  I can't wait till I am on the "other side".

Hey Lisa,

Could you share a complaint for me?  5pm just sucks.  Sorry to be so blunt.....but it is just NOT a good time of day.  Some people work, that is high traffic time in my house with getting kids from school, dinner, kung fu and the like.  A 7pm meeting would be soooo much better.  I never understood why DHC did the orientation sessions in the afternoon.....just because 'they can' I guess.

Sorry, crabby PMSing.  I just really want to go to a meeting and the time never works for me.

I agree about the time Michelle.  I will mention it today.  7:00pm would be perfect for me.

I just wanted to let you know that Lisa asked to change the meeting times to 7 p.m.  They're not going to do it.  Sadly, it wasn't really even put up for discussion.  Linda, the nut, just said that it would make too long of a work day for her, and that was the end of the discussion.  I wish you could find a way to make the meetings, I'd like to meet you.

There's also a free monthly support meeting at the end of the month at CMC that's open to any post-ops.  I haven't made it to any of those yet, but I plan to start going after the holidays.  Laurie (NHSkinnyGirl on this board) goes to them.  We also go to one that's held the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Southern NH Medical Center that you could go to.  It doesn't matter that you didn't have your surgery at these places.  I had mine at Tufts in Boston, and I go to the SNHMC and DMHC and will start CMC.  Sometimes I think I'm a freak because that will make a total of FOUR support groups a month for me, but I really get something different from each of them.

I don't want to 'talk badly' about the team at DHC.....but....when they say that it is 'patient driven' they sure are not kidding.

Awwwww...poor Linda.  It would make her day too long?  Geee---and I thought her job was to be of service to her patients.  I guess I got that wrong.

How about adjusting your hours for ONE FRIGGIN DAY of the month?  She was telling me that they usually get less than 20....well....have you bothered to ASK your post-ops why they don't come to the meetings?

Look---I HAD TO go to the pre-op meetings that---in all honesty---after the first one were pretty much a waste of my time.  I did it because it was forced participation.

NOW that there are meetings that I would LIKE TO go to....it is totally not convenient.

Sorry, just annoyed.

When does the SNHMC one meet?

That one meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month.  It's a very very small group, but the folks who attend are great.  I can remind you when the next one is coming up.  They start at 6:30 (at least it's not 5) in Nashua.  I wouldn't mind car-pooling if that would help too.

I plan on being there, but I've been under the weather for the last week, so I'll see how I feel at 5 tonight.
