Derry Post Op meeting
So I decided to go to the Derry post op meeting last night, very different than the Portsmouth meeting. It was much smaller, which was nice. So I leave my house just before 5:00 because I'm not sure how long it will take me to get there, it ends up only taking around 40-45 minutes so I am early. I go into the room and start chatting with a very nice lady who is also early. It turns out I am talking to treading. I must say, it was a pleasure to make her aquaintance. BTW: she looks great!
Only thing about it was that the trip going there didn't seem so bad, but I had a headache driving home and the trip seemed to take forever.....but I may have to make the trip again for another meeting in the future.
I enjoyed the meeting last night. I'll take your word for it that the PRH meetings are packed. Hard to imagine. I've been so spoiled by our intimate little Derry group. And I'm a talker so it suits me just fine. Even from Derry, my ride home is an hour. But it is so worth it. I met so many new people and I always walk away with good stuff in my heart and head. So good to meet you,Trundy. I hope you are feeling better this morning.
I'm anxiously awaiting a call from my sleep apnea doctor. I'm really struggling with a new sleep disturbance. I can't stay asleep and even when i do, I don't feel rested. I'm using my cpap and it seems to still fit fine. I take my ambien but I wake up a LOT. Gens though I might not be metabolizing the meds correctly anymore. He seems to think there are other meds that could be tried. At any rate, I have to try to get some help because I am the walking dead at this point. I sure hope the good Doctor Picard can help me. Well, gotta run. Thanks again, Trundy, you made my day. Treading
I am feeling much better this morning, thank you. I don't know where the headache came from, I don't get them that often anymore so it kind of surprised me.
It was very good to meet you also, I enjoyed talking to you very much.
I feel your pain with the sleep problem, I don't have apnea, but I have been on Ambien for a few years now because I do not stay asleep for very long. I also have found that since the surgery that it doesn't work as well for me anymore. I will sleep for 4 hours or so and then be wide awake. But I feel pretty rested even though I am getting less sleep. Hopefully they will be able to find something else for you.
Everyone at the Derry meeting seemed very nice, and I really enjoyed the meeting. I look forward to seeing you all again in the future.
EVERYONE looks great. I am so excited for these post ops meetings. I will try and make every month because they are so important. Reconnecting with people and getting some good advice (or things off our chests) is just pricelss.
What a great program. I do want to make it to a PRH meeting especially since I see the NUT Jaquie from there and not the other NUT at the Derry meetings.

You get a lot more input / opinions, but it loses something at the same time because of the large size. But that is just my opinion, I personally am not comfortable talking in large groups, I am more comfortable asking and answering questions in smaller settings. But I do like the large group at times because there are more people with more various experiences.
