Just to fill you in...Dr. Drinkwater left SNHMC high and dry with their program for Surgical Weight Loss, they worked really hard to get Dr. Brown to leave St. Joe's and join their surgical community along with his partner Dr. Block. Once they got them there they decided that from a financial point of view that, starting up a program again would not be in their best interest. The hospital, get a load of this, doesn't think that there are enough people wanting to have surgery to start up the program again...
Our meeting is for post op's from any WLS it is held monthly and God love the man he tries to attend as many monthly meetings that he can. We are very lucky to have him, he is dedicated and will answer any questions we have, give advise and if we stump him with a question (which almost never happens) he will take your name and number and get back to you with an answer. It's been about 3 yrs I think or at least 2 that he has not been doing this surgery but he still cares enough to help us...
Please feel free to call the hospital, let them know that you would like to see the program start up again. Maybe if they hear from enough people they will look into it or consider starting it up again. It is a shame that them don't think they could get the numbers, but Dr. Brown said they would need to do 125 surgeries per year to get the center of excellence and Dr. Brown would not be able to do that much alone so they would most likely need to get a 2nd doctor to practice this too.
If your looking for a good support group and have had surgery already please join us, we are always looking to build up the numbers for our group....

I see alot of the people that live in your area go to the program at the Derry hospital (sorry I have a brain cramp for the name of it) Also not sure if you know or could go to Lowell General Hospital down in Ma. They have a really good program from what I hear.
Are you scheduled yet in Manchester? The wait is the worst but hang in there it will happen when your time is right.
Keep in touch and I hope we get to see you at our support group before you know it...
