Time Keeps On Slipping, Slipping
... into the future....
Where does the time go, anyway? Well, I've been doing pretty good, glad to say. The ulcer meds are certainly working and so eating has gotten much easier. I'm very sore in the abdomen tonight but I tend to overdo on the weekends and I pay for it. I'm just sitting down now and I was up at 6 this morning. DH and I ran a slew of errands ( including stops at 2 GWs!). And toning ht I ate my first meal in a restaurant-post op. Nothing bad happened but the baked fish was sitting in a vat of fat. Ugh! Even the veggies were smothered in oil/butter. I picked some fish out but it was a small meal. LOL.
The switch to liquid multivits was a great help. I like them and it reduces doses. I can now swallow half of a Tylenol or a 1/4 of my neurontin. Again, huge helps because crushing these made for a disgusting mess. I'm waiting on a new order from vitalady and I hope to soon have some yummy new SF syrups although I can't really image anything better than Torani's cinnamon brown sugar. Oh, and here is a another massively wonderful thing - I still love lobster and it still loves me! I had 2.5 oz of steamed lobster meat with 1/3 Tbsp of butter on Friday night. Heaven.
I am missing my Motrin though. I've got lots more aches and pains now that I am up and doing more. Oh well. I'll likely head back to Boston for nerve blocks before too long. That's just another "oh well".
I see Gens on Thursday and hope to get cleared to get back in the pool. I know I have to go slow cuz I still get muscle spasm if I lift even a bit more than 10 lbs. Still, I could just wallow about and keep things moving so I hope Gens will agree.
I'm in a stall. Just like so many others have said, I'm losing sizes and inches but the scale hasn't budged in over 2 weeks. Still, I'm down 32 lbs in less than 8 weeks and starting at 210 lbs, I think that is still very remarkable. I'm 100 % on program and if anything I am probably not getting enough calories or carbs. I am getting about 800 cals a day and I guess that's pretty dang good for 8 wks post -op? So there isn't anything that needs changing. I'm a realist so I know to expect these stalls. Nothing daunted, I'll plug along.
Can't wait for the Derry post-op meeting next week. Take good care and Happy Veteran's Day to one and all. Treading

Well, I am delighted you are doing better. It broke my heart you were having such a rough time. I hear ya with thos NSAID's, tho. I have been in a lot of pain (non RNY related) lately, well, since surgery, but can't really do anything about it until my wound heals. Or I can take narcotics, but that's not really an option.
I am going to go (at least as of now) to the Derry post op meeting next Monday. I think I may alternate months, Derry one month and Portsmouth the other. Shake it up a bit.
