I know just how you feel. It could not go fast enough for me either. You will be amazed though, enjoy the ride...it is fantastic.did you say if you were having the lap band or RNY?
I had lap band surgery in August. I love it. You will probably have to switch to a chewable or liquid calcium, because you still cannot take large pills. I have to crush or cut in halves or quarters. I take chewable vitamins and calcium. I found a small vitamin d supplement that I am not having any problem taking. I think you are right with going with the lap band, because of the malabsorbsion problems with RNY. The lap band is great though, you just don't lose as fast, which I am not having a problem with at all. I am still losing, about 10 pounds per month.
And don't think you are alone in the diet thing. I have lost and regained probably over 500 pounds in my lifetime. Remember this is a tool, you still have to change behaviors. You will do fine though.

Hmmm did not know that about the pills, I will have to check with the endocrinologist that manages all that. I am telling myself that this will be the start of the rest of my life. In a way I am glad you lose it slower - I have been fat for so long that I don't know if there is any chance of my skin snapping back but if I lose it slower maybe there is a chance. Honestly I don't care - so I might look bad in a bathing suit - I already look bad in a bathing suit LOL and with my stretch marks and tubal scars a bikini would be out of the question anyhow. My neighbor had RNY and is like a size 10 now from my size (26), looks fabulous in her clothes but not in a bathing suit. If I get to that point I will be so psyched that the bathing suit won't matter.
I have not had too much of a problem with resorption of my skin. I have noticed my arms, and a bit on my legs, but I am trying to work through lifting weights and toning to take care of the bulk of it. I have also had to work around taking larger meds, and have either been able to crush them, or open capsules. Your doc should be able to work within the guidelines.
This is the start of your new life. You will love it. You will be a whole new person!! or rather...half of a whole new person!!
