Timing of First Labs?
PRH People? I know this has been asked before but humor me, please. When do we get our first set of labs done? 3 months or 6 months. Also, do you feel PRH orders all the tests that are necessary? I'm thinking about the difference between serum Ca and the test that would indicate that calcium is being leeched from your bones. I am very concerned to have all the necessary tests done and I will deal with my PCP to get them, if necessary. But perhaps you experienced PRHs can assure me that this won't be a concern? Treading
Hi Treading :) I believe you are talking about PTH levels. I'm not sure if they check that. I have a story for you. Now keep in mind that my surgeon is Dr. Looser so that means I deal with Betty. On my last visit 10/17 I had my labs done. I was 4 1/2 months out. This was a Friday. So I called Betty on Tuesday to get the results. Now I thought I was being patient ,after all I could have called on Monday right? Well Miss Betty in her "tone" tells me that it was too soon she wouldn't have the results until Wednesday maybe Thursday. So I wait until Friday to call again. Patience of a saint that's what I have, in my opinion. Well Betty tells me that she hasn't seen them and that they would be going on vacation next week and if I really thought I was having a problem I could call and another doctor would review them. So needless to say it's been more then 2 weeks and I still have not gotten any results. I'll be sure to let you know what exactly they checked when I know.
On a very funny note - on the 17 th when Betty was weighting me in she but the bar over 200 and i said no no Betty it's less then that and put my hand up and she slapped it and told me not to touch it. Now it was a nice little slap but seriously. I have to laugh too because she gets every last little ounce in there too.
I'm so glad you are feeling better!!!
