Doing Better

Good Morning Friends,
I'm 6 weeks post-op today and can say that I feel so much better at last.  The ulcer medications are working so eating isn't the painful ordeal it was.  I'm still doing mushies because even chicken salad makes me uncomfortably full after just 2 bites.  Slow and steady wins this race, I think.  Since I discovered ISOPURE and Torani SF syrups getting in my protein has gotten much easier.  Thank goodness.
I worked half days last week and started back at full-time this week.  I confess I am dog tired and I am not sleeping well though I have no idea what's up with that.  But it is so good to be back that I think it is worth it.  But my evenings are all eaten up with preparing for the next day and then I fall into bed early.  I'm sure many of you could tell a similar story.  Overall I am pleased.  I get 2 small walks and one long walk in every day.  I hope to be cleared for getting back into my swimming pool soon.  I'm going to give liquid vits and supplements a try because the ulcer meds have to be taken apart and on an empty stomach.  It creates a real time crunch so I'll see if the liquids help to reduce the number of dosings.  Found out on Saturday that I still can't bend or do many chores without getting those horrible muscle cramps at my left incision site.  Good to know!  LOL.  And I miss seeing my support buddies.  I will be at the next Derry PRH post-op support group meeting for sure.  I gobble up all your posts and I am here even if not able right now to spend too much time posting myself.  Stay well.  Treading

Treading,
I'm so happy to hear that you are doing better - finally!  Let's hope that things keep going in that direction for you.  I was very worried about you, but you always kept your spirits up through it all, and I think that's half the battle.
Keep on keeping on!

I am so happy that you are doing better.  It was scary for a while, and we were not living it like you were.  Your attitude probably is the best medicine of all.  Keep walking...mushing...and drinking.

Sounds like you are on the real road to recovery....finally!  Congrats.  Just remember, stop bending and doing chores.  They can wait.  Get all the sleep and rest you can.  Glad to hear things are going well at work!  Keep up the great work!
