I agree.  Cigna sucks.  Luckily my husband is high enough up that he contacted a benefits person and got my RNY approved.  I did more than enough to be approved and they originally denied.  They are disorganized and lose paperwork.  I have to call them EVERY time i have a claim.  Supposedly the provider doesn't put the correct DX code so they deny them.  They are covered though, thankfully!   I met my deductible and out of pocket now so everything is paid at 100% until June 30, 2009!  BUT, I did have to pay over $2000.  It just happened to be in one lump sum.

Talk to your HR director.  They must not have picked up a very good plan.

I have Cigna and they have covered everything.....

anthem was great! thats what we HAD

my hubby's compnay switched to cigna just to save a buck, talking to hr will do nothing...more for company than for the people.. they picked that particular plan to save as much money as they could....
every year the plan changes, so maybe next year it will change again my tbe summer. hopefully... i know people at the company that are PISSED over this plan

I had Cigna with my wor****il December 2007.  I changed, and added hubby and I to our business insurance - Anthem.  Boy am I glad I did.  Anthem actually let me change our policy, knowing I was having the surgery, to a policy that would cover it.  They were great.  I checked out my Cigna policy after, and they would have made me go through 6 months of a physician supervised weigh loss program.  Even then they might not have covered it.  So if I still had Cigna, I would just be starting the program now, instead of 2 1/2 months post surgery.

Its a law that bariatric surgery has to be covered, of course you do need to qualify for the procedure but that is a law that was recently passed in New Hampshire.
