fallen off the wagon!

I am going on 4 months out from Lap Band surgery, and I have majorly fallen off the wagon!  I have gained about 6-7 lbs since my last weigh in, but before that weigh in, I weighed less than what was recorded.  I was actually down to 203, and I am up at 212 again!  I guess I am scared to loose anymore weight.  I don' t want to fail, and that seems to be what I am doing.  I need to get back on track, but I cannot attend to any of the meetings due to scheduleing conflicts.  I am eating almost as much as I was before surgery!  I see something, and I want it, I cannot get my mind off of it.  I am really having issues. 

I am welcoming any suggestions that anyone might have.  I really want to get back on the wagon, but I am scared to see Nancy and Dr. Gens, because I feel like I am failing miserably!  I know I have to call and make an appointment.. Does anyone have Nancy's number?

Hi Crystal,

First of all you have not failed.  You may just need a fill.  It could be as simple as that.  Dr. Gens and Nancy will not be upset, except if you don't call them.  So here is Nancy's number 334-2006.  Her email is [email protected].  Call her today.  I bet you will be pleasantly surprised.  Meanwhile, you have made the first step without really knowing it.  You have said outloud that you are having a problem.  Use us as your meeting.  We will all be there to support you, and offer help in any way we can. 

Call Nancy today, and don't be scared.  Dr. Gens will understand, and so won't Nancy.  They want to see everyone be successful.  And Dr. Gens is such a sweetie, I cannot see him getting upset at anyone.

Let us know how you are doing, and when your appointment is.

This is the exact time that you need to call them, that is what they are there for. Don't think of yourself as failing, you are just having a minor set back, get on the phone today and call Nancy or Dr. Gens. I guarantee you that they will be nothing but supportive!

It stinks that you can't get to the meetings.  Whenever I start feeling like I am falling back into my old ways, I go back and reread the informaltion that I got at the beginning, and I think about how excited I was about having the surgery.  It helpes me refocus.

There's also a neat book called the Beck Diet Solution.  I bought it but haven't read the whole thing-  but it tackles the issues that all of us face and teaches us how to change our thinking to help us lose weight.  It might be a good jumpstart to get you back on track!

Definitely call Nancy and post here and in the lapband forum as much as possible.  I don't have time to post much anymore, but I still check in to read about other people's success because it motivates me to keep up with everything.

I didn't have lapband, but it sounds to me like you may need another fill.  You should definitely call the doc.  First, if you need a fill, they will do it, and that may get you back on track.  Second, even if you don't need a fill, they WANT to help you.  Just as you don't want to "fail" (for lack of a better word), they don't want to see you fail either.  Better to nip it in the bud now than wait until you have to turn it around for even more weight gain.  Besides, you have won half the battle by realizing that you need help.  You will be fine.  Just hang in there!

I have contacted Nancy and Jacquie.  Dr. Gens is on vacation this week, but she will let him know what is going on and work with my schedual.  Nancy also suggested meeting up with Dr. Wagner again.  I will do that as well.  I possibly have an appointment with Jacquie this Friday.  I do want to get healthy again.  Thanks for the support, I'll keep you guys updated.
