10/3/08 QOTD "Inspiration"

What's the best quote you've ever heard that inspires you and keeps you going?  For me, it's in my signature line, "How I respond to challenges says more about me than doing something easy ever will." 

It reminds me that even though life is not always easy, life is great!

There have been so many quotes that have inspired me over the years, but I guess the one that stands out is one my Mom always says (and now I always say):  "Things always have a way of working out for the better."  When something doesn't go quite the way I'd like it to, I think of that.  It always ends up proving to be true. 

I like the one in your signature line.  It kind of reminds me of what really matters with people.  Or, what really SHOULD matter.

Yes, I love that one too (which is why it's in my signature line).  I think it's a line from an Alicia Keyes song.  I heard it on Good Morning America one morning.  It was sung to Robin Roberts.  In case you don'****ch the show, she's one of the anchors who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  It just struck a chord with me.

I really have two....it all depends on what I am going through.  I love Winston Churchill's quote..."When you are going through Hell....Keep Going"  I also like "Good things come to those who wait".  I used to say that to my kids all of the time.

I like the Winston Churchill one.  It's so true, huh?  So many people think they're stuck in hell, but really, if we keep going, we get through it.

It is so true.  My sister gave me a magnet with that on it shortly after we lost both of our parents within a 9 month span.  I was not in a good place at that point, and I really just looked at that every day, and it helped me so much.  I really live by those words.

Wow, within 9 months?  That's harsh.  I'm glad that quote helped you.  My husband's parents will be gone five years this Spring.  They passed away within 18 days of each other.  It was so eerie being back in the funeral parlor and church again so soon. 

It was a really bad time...on top of that, I turned 40 in January, my mom died a week before mother's day in May, and my dad died 8 days before my 41st birthday.  So my daughter totally understood that I did not want a big party when I turned 50!!!
